Worcester Warriors

It would be tempting to keep the rugby reporting part of this article to the minimum especially for those Quins and England supporters who endured a dispiriting weekend just gone. Obviously the Irish Diaspora had a good three days at our expense and they must be thinking of bringing St Patrick’s Day forward to the end of February such was the joy and celebration. If anyone ever suggests inviting a President of any nation to watch us play one of their teams then please recall how you felt this week and have them banned from setting foot in the country.

Our hard fought win over the Saints here 2 weeks ago seems a distant memory now and every game is becoming a must-win outing for Quins. With Worcester and Leeds both finding winning form and the spread of points so close we can’t relax for one minute. Even the delayed fixture against Leeds is taking on more significance now. Once again I urge you all to shout, clap and sing as loud as possible to encourage the boys this afternoon. I’ll be happy if we are not dragged into a last-game decider on who stays up. I’ve experienced one of those before and I don’t savour the prospect.

Have you booked your place for our Meet-The-Management evening here in the member’s bar at the Stoop on Tuesday the 23rd March. We need to know if you are coming and how many you’ll be bringing in order to arrange enough seating. Please email John at john@quinssa.org.uk to advise your attendance.

The evening, which will be a Q&A session with Mark Evans and Conor O’Shea in attendance will run from 7pm to 9.30pm.

This event will, as usual, be free to Quinssa members with a nominal £3 entry fee for non-member guests.

If you have any specific questions for Mark or Conor and you want to be sure of getting them asked, please send them in advance to john@quinssa.org.uk

Quinssa Summer Party – Saturday 5th June. A date for your diary. Venue is yet to be confirmed but certain to be local and all the fun of a great family day out.

Wooden Spoon BikeFest – Saturday 19th June. - Wooden Spoon is organising a charity bike ride from lots of Rugby Grounds to Wootton Bassett Rugby Club in June this year.  Several Premiership clubs are taking part and Harlequins, never likely to shirk a challenge, is doing the longest ride of all – 106 miles.

But don’t let that put you off.  It should be a fun, if challenging, day out and you will be raising money for very worthwhile causes. Full details can be found here: http://www.spoonchallenges.com/rte.asp?id=343

Gareth Harkin, Quins’ Debenture Manager, is coordinating things for Quins riders, so you can get in touch with him here: garethh@quins.co.uk or 078 7209 9517 or 020 8410 6091

The next away coach this season is to Bath on Saturday the 27th March. ??Don’t forget that we are also running coaches to Wembley for the Saracens game on Sunday 18th April. For bookings see us in the King’s Bar before home games at the Stoop or contact coaches@quinssa.org.uk
