Programme Notes 2009/10
Northampton Saints
We’re not going to talk about rugby this week! Instead, let’s concentrate on two Quinssa events: one just gone; one coming soon.
Quinssa 6 Nations Dinner
On Tuesday evening Mark Evans, John Kingston, Collin Osborne and Tony Diprose, together with 19 of the Squad and representatives from Etihad Airways and Greene King rubbed shoulders with over 120 Supporters at the annual Quinssa 6 Nations Dinner at the Stoop with Mad Max as the Master of Ceremonies.
Before dinner was served Bob Hiller provided the Grace, which he had written himself especially for the event, and after everyone had chatted with their Player Hosts and eaten their way through a lovely 3 course dinner – interspersed with some table magic courtesy of Mad Max – it was time for the Quinssa Supporters’ Awards.
There were 4 Awards which had been voted for by Quinssa members:
Best Forward
Nominations with the most votes: Ceri Jones, Chris Robshaw & Nick Easter
Winner: Nick Easter
Best Back
Nominations with the most votes: Danny Care, Nick Evans and Ugo Monye
Winner: Ugo Monye
Unsung Hero
Nominations with the most votes: Ceri Jones, Collin Osborne, George Lowe and Tom Guest
Winner: Ceri Jones ***
Quinssa Favourite Player
Nominations with the most votes: Chris Robshaw, Danny Care, Tani Fuga and Will Skinner
Winner: Will Skinner
In addition, a Special Recognition Award was presented to the hugely popular Jim Evans.
*** Those regular attendees at the Quinssa annual dinners will know that Ceri is the most sung-about unsung hero, having won the award three years running!
During the evening Quinssa presented a cheque for the Academy to Tony Diprose in the sum of £2,500 and, thanks to the continued generosity of Etihad Airways and Greene King who provided some superb prizes for the raffle as did the Club by donating a signed shirt and items of Quins’ merchandise, an additional £935 was raised for the Academy. Well done all those Quinssa members who supported the raffle so generously.
The evening was rounded off in great style by the ever-popular live band RISER (www.riser-live.co.uk)
Quinssa would like to thank everyone who made Tuesday evening possible, notably Emma. Thanks also to Dave Coldrey for the photos.
Meet the Management 23rd March 2010
On Tuesday March 23rd we have arranged a Meet the Management evening with Mark Evans and Conor O’Shea in the Members’ bar at the Twickenham Stoop.
The evening, which will be in the form of a Q&A session, will run from 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
With over four weeks to go, we already have nearly 80 people attending this popular event, not only because Mark always provides good value for money but also because it will be the first opportunity we will have to meet Conor as our new Director of Rugby and to hear their visions for the club, especially on the playing side.
This event will, as usual, be free to Quinssa members with a nominal £3 entry fee for non-member guests.
If you have any specific questions for Mark or Conor and you want to be sure of getting them asked, please send them in advance to john@quinssa.org.uk
Please let John (john@quinssa.org.uk) know that you are planning to attend and how many guests you will bring. This helps us plan the seating, etc. arrangements to make sure everyone is comfortable.
