Programme Notes 2004/5
Sale Sharks
Today we welcome Sale Sharks to the Stoop for the last Zurich Premiership weekend of the season. We hope their travelling supporters, management and team enjoy their time in greater London.
Well, this is it! Everyone’s been through the countless permutations and combinations. As I’ve had to write these notes at the beginning of the week we still have our destiny in our own hands. By the time you read them, we might not. Did we think it would come down to this?
Perfect for neutrals!
If you’re an outsider to all of this then rugby has yet again saved much of the drama for the last five days of the season. The bottom pair meet each other and the top two as well. There’s also the little matter of Worcester against Northampton. With automatic Heineken Cup qualification being fiercely contested and the Wildcard places in the lap of the Gods then there’s not a dead game in sight.
Balloons away!
If you’re reading these notes before the game then make sure you visit the Quinssa stand in the East Stand to buy some light hot air for an excellent cause, the BPA. The balloon that goes the furthest gets the main prize, the finder of that balloon also gets something nice as well. Believe it or not, we needed permission from Air Traffic Control to do this. As there’s lot going on today the balloons will be released before the game starts.
Bam Bams!
Your favourite inflatable objects! We will have some of the Quinssa crew outside by entrances hoping to sell masses of them today. We’re also selling the remaining calendars at an amazing £1 a go. So if you still haven’t bought one then right that wrong today.
Quinssa AGM
Our second AGM is fast approaching on Wednesday 8th June. Last year we managed just under 40% of our membership to be present on the day. I doubt if we’ll manage that this time as the number has continued to rise. If you can make it, then please do. The business part of the evening won’t take long and we’ve invited special guests for the rest of it. As they say, more later.
Away travel
If events go our way, then there still is the slight possibility of a further away game. Either visit the Quinssa web site at www.quinssa.org.uk or contact our coach supreme on john@quinssa.org.uk for details.
Quinssa stand
If you want to find out more about Quinssa then either visit our desk in the East Stand before the game or see our web site, details are above. You can also renew your subscription and buy from our extensive range of merchandise. Quinssa is the independent fans organisation now just two years old.
Some good byes and thanks
Being the end of the regular season then there’s the inevitable goings. A big thank you to all who have contributed to this great club. Thanks also go to all the volunteers that have helped Quinssa on match days and to David Coldrey and Rob Sheward who have provided some of the stunning photos used on this page.
Back the team
It’s not been that great since we contrived to lose to Irish. Today we’ve got to back the team, make the noise and cheer the lads all the way. So throw away your natural inhibition and raise the roof! Have a good day. Come on you Quins!
