Programme Notes 2004/5
Gloucester
Today we welcome the supporters, team and management of Gloucester to the capital’s premier rugby club. At the moment neither club is quite where they expected to be in the ZP table so a keenly contested game is anticipated this afternoon. Much is at stake and it will be interesting to see how much effect the Six Nations has on both the team selections and the result.
What’s missing?
If you’re looking around the ground and notice that there’s something missing, well there is. It’s the West Stand. Not before time in my humble opinion, this is the start of something big at The Stoop and increasing our capacity and supporter base is a vital part of it. So these remaining five home league games are going to seem strange and it’ll be interesting to see how the noise and the wind change because of it.
Quinssa travel
A big well done to John Hartley who took over as coach supremo for last week’s game at Leicester. It would have been nice to start with a win and for a while the unlikely looked on the cards as Quins got two good tries before half time. Unfortunately Tigers came back strongly and deserved their win, although I think they were a tad flattered by the scoreline. The travelling support made a lot of noise, had a very hearty lunch in a local pub and even enjoyed a coach tour of some of the back streets.
Next trip
John’s organised the next trip which is our second visit of the season to Bath. If you fancy joining us for an amazing social and cultural day out then either visit the Quinssa desk in the East stand before the game today or contact John at coaches@quinssa.org.uk. Full details can also be found on our website at quinssa.org.uk.
This year’s must have is …
A Quinssa calendar! I know, obvious wasn’t it? I expect most people reading this would already have bought the odd one or two. Surprisingly there’s still a few left. Now you don’t have to be a regular on the Antiques Roadshow to know that these will soon be collector’s items. So pick one up at the Quinssa table, before it’s too late.
What’s Quinssa?
Quinssa is the independent fans organisation now just three months away from our second birthday. We’ve so far accumulated over five hundred members, we’ve a web site at www.quinssa.org.uk packed with information. Quinssa primarily organise away travel, arrange a host of social events, support the club and raise a fair bit for charity along the way. So why not join us?
Quinssa stand
We regularly have table in the East Stand before games. It’s a good chance to come and meet other Quinssa members, book places on coaches, catch up on other information and obviously, buy another calendar. Why not pop along?
Have a really great day, try to stay in your seat whilst the game is in progress, respect the kickers and most importantly cheer the lads all the way and help raise the roof on this most vital of matches.
