Programme Notes 2004/5
Saracens
Today we return to Zurich Premiership action with the visit of our home counties neighbour Saracens. We hope their supporters, management and players enjoy their short time here tonight.
C’est la vie
It’s been a frustrating couple of weeks for Quins what with a home draw against Castres Olympique and the narrowest of defeats to another home counties side, Wasps. Was it just me or did a few crucial calls go against us?
West Stand
The planning application will probably come before the appropriate committee this week. Full details will appear elsewhere and are on the Quinssa website (www.quinssa.org.uk). So if you possibly can get to Richmond Council’s York House on Thursday night then it could make a difference. Getting approval is crucial for Quins future development. If we want a ground and set-up to rival the best in Europe then this needs to go ahead. Please make every effort to attend.
Welcome
A big Quinssa welcome to our two new signings. Simon Maling got a few minutes game time at the Causeway and if you haven’t seen him before he’s the big guy with a chic retro mullet. Geo Cronje from the Blue Bulls should also appear at some time tonight as well. Congratulations also go to Tom Williams who had a highly encouraging home debut against Castres.
Quiz night
Well done to all who organised and took part in the quiz night. Twenty seven teams took part and a fun night was had by all, even the teams that found some of the answers a tad elusive. Monies were raised for a whole host of charities and good causes including the BPA and the Harlequins Ladies youth section.
Coming up!
The ‘BPA Auction of Promises’ will take place at the Supporter’s party at 7.30pm on December 1st at the Stoop. Tickets are available from all the usual reputable sources including the Quinssa desk before the game in the East Stand. The auction will include skills, services and ‘money can’t buy’ experiences donated by people connected to NEC Harlequins. So it’s going to be a great night and you could end up with something really special to take home!
Coaches
If you want a seat on the coach to Ospreys on Sunday 5th December in the Heineken Cup then you better hurry as the coach is almost full. As the Sale Sharks game has been moved at very short notice, thank you Sale, we won’t be running a coach up there on the Friday night. Sorry about that.
What’s Quinssa?
Quinssa is the independent fans organisation now in it’s second year. We’ve a web site at www.quinssa.org.uk packed with information. Quinssa primarily organise away travel, arrange a host of social events, support the club and raise a fair bit for charity along the way.
Bookings and contacting us
If you’re around before the game then pop into the East Stand bar and by the stage you’ll see our table. It’s a chance to meet and greet other fans, book for coaches and find out more info.
Have a great evening, relax after another enjoyable week of work and enjoy the Quins experience to the full.
