Exeter Rugby Football Club
(aka Exeter Chiefs)
The County Ground, Church Road, St Thomas, Exeter EX2 9BQ
(t) 01392 278759 (f) 01392 427582

Where the club is: Exeter is located in deepest Devon on the south coast nearish to the mouth of the river Exe. It goes without saying that this is a long trek.

Club ground: Exeter Chiefs will be moving to a new ground, Sandy Park, at the beginning of the 2006/7 season. For now they are located at the homely County Ground, which holds just over 5000.

Position last year: Exeter were runners up to Bristol amassing 101 points and winning all but six of their 26 fixtures. They are sure to be very strong contenders this year.

How to get there:

Road: Either take the M4 to Bristol then follow the M5 south to Exeter or a more direct route is the A30 (A303) all the way from London.

Rail: The nearest railway ground to the station is Exeter St Thomas, although the main station is St Davids. Trains run about half hourly from London Paddington to Exeter St Davids with First Great Western and take anything around two and a half hours. There’s also a slower service from London Waterloo with South West trains. Wessex trains run about hourly from St Davids to St Thomas and take about 15 minutes.
