Quinssa ND1 Travel Guide
Doncaster Rugby Football Club
Castle Park, Armthorpe Road, Doncaster DN2 5QB
(t) 01302 831388 (f) 01302 836300
Where the club is: Doncaster is situated in south Yorkshire. It’s a little way north east of both Sheffield and Rotherham and a fair way west of Scunthorpe. Transport routes are very good to Doncaster.
Doncaster are certainly a club on the up after eight promotions in fifteen years. This will be their first season in the ND1 and it should prove to be an interesting experience.
Club ground: The ground is located to the north east of the city in the Armthorpe district. The club house has only been open a few years. There’s three seating areas at the ground, two of which are covered. The wheelchair area is in the West terrace.
Helpful sites: Official web site is http://www.drfc.co.uk/ . This is an impressive site with most of the information there, apart from ticketing details.
How to get there
Train: Approximately two trains an hour from London Kings Cross with the journey taking a little over ninety minutes. The ground is about ten minutes in taxi from Doncaster station. The trains at the moment run until quite late, so there’s opportunity to stay and have a beer before trekking back.
Road: The ground is five minutes from junction 4 on the M18. Full details and several maps can be found at http://www.drfc.co.uk/ However don’t type in the postcode as very few sites seem to recognise it!
