Saturday 14th June - Quinssa Boat Trip
Yes, the Quinssa summer boat trip is back again, to rapturous acclaim. By popular demand, we’ve changed the venue and will, this year, be enjoying the pleasures, sights and smells of the English countryside as we follow, partly at least, in the wake of Jerome, George, Harris & Montmorency, cruising leisurely from Windsor to Maidenhead (& beyond?).
Basking in the summer sunshine, listening to the lapping of water against the bows and thrilling to the exciting sounds of our band, Riser, while partaking of a buffet lunch and, no doubt, a few drinks, you will enjoy the stimulating conversation of your fellow Quinssa travellers, recounting tales of derring-do (on and off the pitch) and enjoying the home counties’ leafy riverside.
Anyway, that’s enough of the lyrical claptrap. We’re now taking bookings for this ever popular event, so get your diary, your pen and your cheque book handy and read on.

The departure - Saturday 14th June 2008 @ 12:00
We start from the Salters’ Steamers boat-yard in central Windsor, just next door to Windsor & Eton Riverside station. http://www.salterssteamers.co.uk/winrunstainmap.htm. For those of you who wish to drive there, there should be adequate parking in the station car park. The boat leaves at 12:00, so you should get there by 11:45 at the latest.
The journey - to Maidenhead
We will be travelling upstream towards Maidenhead and there will be a buffet lunch and a fully licensed pay bar for the journey as well as live music from our band, Riser http://www.myspace.com/riserlive.
The return - back to Windsor
At 17:00, we will return to our departure point whence, after leaving the boat, you can either continue to enjoy the sights and attractions of Windsor or return home.
Wheelchair access
The boat is wheelchair accessible although the chartering company (Salter’s Steamers) tell us that motorised wheelchairs cannot, unfortunately, be accommodated.
With limited places available, we are offering places initially to Quinssa members, their partners and immediate family, so book early to avoid disappointment. Quinssa is subsidising the hire of the boat so we have managed to keep the costs down to last year’s level: £15 for members and £20 for non member partners and immediate family, which will cover the costs of a finger buffet and the entertainment. Children 14 and under are £5 (members) and £10 (non members). Children aged 6 and under are free.
To book, please print out and send the form (Booking Form [pdf] or Booking Form [rtf] with a cheque, made payable to Quinssa, to:
John Hartley
1 Crestfield Street
London
WC1H 8AT
All bookings must be made by Saturday 24 May 2008 but please book earlier if you can.
Doing so will help the Quinssa organisers enormously.
