London Marathon
Nick Cowell, Account Manager of the Etihad Airways sponsorship is running the London Marathon in aid of HEART U.K. in less than six weeks. Nick has helped us to develop our relationship with Etihad and helped activate the sponsorship to benefit us in terms of competition giveaways and drinks incentives to help raise the number of Quinssa members. H.E.A.R.T UK are passionate about preventing premature deaths caused by high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. Inherited high cholesterol (IHC) affects about one person in every 100 and can cause early cardiovascular disease and shorten lives. IHC can kill fit young people, without warning, in their 30s, 40s and even in their 20s! If you would like to donate money direct to Nick’s charity then please visit www.justgiving.com/nickcowell Nick would like to thank you in advance for your support to HEART UK!
Kurt Budge says : “I'm back in training of sorts for this year's marathon, running for Headway - the charity that supports people with brain injuries & those that care for them - a great charity that has supported a fellow mining industry professional, alumnus of my university and the Royal School of Mines. Charles Hutson became a beneficiary of Headway's support services after suffering very severe head injuries when he tried to stop a robbery at his local jeweller in Highgate in March 2003, deliberately thrown off the bonnet of the speeding getaway car. He has made a good recovery but will never return to work. If you are not familiar with Headway then please log-on to the website www.headway.org.uk to see the great work they do.
This is my fourth year running London - you think I would have learnt by now - and as always there is a webpage for sponsoring me and supporting Headway. The address this year www.justgiving.com/kurt2008 (for past exploits substitute kurt2007, kurt2006 & just kurt after the backslash). The webpage is very straightforward to use, fast and totally secure. Headway will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, they will benefit from an extra 28% in tax that will be added to your gift by the taxman at no cost to you.
Thank you again to fellow Quinssa members for your support”
Mark Evans - Contrary to all notions of common sense I am once more taking on the slog that is the London Marathon. It has to be said I am hoping against hope for a cooler day than last year. I have failed to get injured this year which is both a surprise and, to be honest, a bit of a disappointment. Indeed I left this request as late as possible so as not to tempt the injury gods. If you feel able to you can donate online by credit or debit card at the following address: www.justgiving.com/markevans3
All donations are secure and sent electronically to Wooden Spoon which is the Harlequins charity of the year. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will add an automatic 28% bonus to your donation at no cost to you. Please join me in supporting Wooden Spoon and I promise this is the last time I will do it
